Senior Managing Associate, PwC Legal BV/SRL
Ive Van Giel is an administrative and public law lawyer since 2004 and has joined the Real Estate practice at PwC Legal in 2017.
He assists and advises developers, investors and public authorities in real estate projects (logistics, warehouses, retail, offices, car-parks, leisure, hotel, senior care, industrial and residential infrastructure, etc.). This includes negotiations, follow-up of administrative aspects, drafting contracts and even drafting legislation for public authorities.
Ive deals with all possible regulatory aspects of project developments (building and environmental permits (‘omgevingsvergunning’), zoning, environmental assessment reports, expropriation, social and economic permits, liability, etc.). His hands-on approach always aims for a good deal, preventing law suits. But in the unfortunate event of a law suit, you can rely on his extensive experience in jurisdictional procedures and administrative appeals (civil and criminal courts, Council of State, Constitutional Court, Council for Permit Disputes, Environmental Enforcement College). Ive is also qualified to act before the Court of Cassation in criminal proceedings.
He is frequently asked as a conference speaker, makes regular contributions to legal magazines and is the author of several books on a wide array of regulatory topics.
Ive is fluent in Dutch, English and French.
